The Open Exhibition at Thoresby Gallery is now in its’ 14th year. Each year the number
of exhibitors has increased attracting both professional and amateur artists of exceptional
ability producing a quality exhibition.
The Thoresby September Open Exhibition is one of the few remaining competitions that still
accepts the original work, rather than digital images for selection. The selection committee
consists of 4 art professionals and changes annually.

by the Gallery insurance policy from 1 September – 7h October inclusive.
Insurance claims will be limited in the first instance to the cost of repair and replacement of

event of damage being sustained to a work included in the Open Exhibition. In the event of
total destruction of a submitted work, evidence to support the selling price set by the artist
at the time of the work’s submission must be provided before compensation to the amount
of the full market value can be considered.
Thoresby Gallery is not liable to refund submission fees for any reason.
The Selection Committee reserves the right to use their discretion in all matters concerning
work submitted. Their decisions in all matters relating to the exhibition will be final and
